Findings

  • Bilateral groundglass opacities and interstitial thickening
  • Mildly enlarged cardiothymic silhouette
  • No pleural effusion or pneumothorax


Diagnosis

  • Pulmonary edema in patient with atrial and ventricular septal defects

Bilateral groundglass opacities and interstitial thickening which raise concern for pulmonary edema.

Mildly enlarged cardiothymic silhouette.

No pleural effusion or pneumothorax.


Discussion

  • Left-sided heart defects and significant intracardiac shunts often present with pulmonary edema
